Summer’s gone in Jackson
We have been enjoying the fall weather here lately, here’s a picture:
The mule deer visit our yard every day, and Sadie is very fierce. She’s actually run a few of them off.
But on Thursday, it actually snowed a bit. Being a native of Wyoming, I expected this and told John that in most years this first snow is temporary–it doesn’t stick. And if we’re lucky, we have 3-4 weeks of “Indian Summer” to follow. This is the true Autumn that is typical in the East coast and midwest, but the Autumn season just doesn’t last as long as it does in those other places. Here’s the snow:
A startling scene, but this isn’t real winter snow. This is heavy wet snow that really wanted to be rain but it was just a little too cold.
All the snow is gone now, and the weather has warmed up, and Sadie is outside again. No more cold paws.
